Dear Mr, O'Hanlon:
On December 13, 1997, the NRC completed an inspection at your North Anna Power
' Station, The enclosed report presents the results:of that inspection,
:During the 6 weeks' covered by this inspection period, yot conduct ~of .,
activities"at-the North Anna Power Station was generally characterized by
: good operations, engineering and maintenance practices, and radiological work
controls,
During the inspection of the-Independent Spent Fuel Storage Installation,
' discrepancies were identified in construction practices related to the correct
-
placement of rebar. We are concerned that these discrepancies were not
-identified by the: quality control inspectors that-were overseeing this
activity,
In-accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice." a copy of
'this'1etter and its enclosure will be-placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
