Dear Dr. Jackson:
Congratulations on your recent appointment as Chairperson, it is with renewed hope that i send you this message Louisiana Energy Services (LES) is '
proposing a uranium enrichment plant that threatens the land, air and water ;
quality of Forest Grove and Center Springs, Louisiana. '
I believe that this facility is dangerous and totally unnecessary. Furthermore, the sMing of this facility between two low income African-American communities is a clear example of environmental racism and sets a dangerous precedent for other Jow income communities of color.
No community should be forced io host this dangerous facility. I ask that you use your authority to prevent LES from obtaining a permit to build the Claibome Enrichment Center and ensure the avironmental protection of local citizens.
