SUBJECT:
COOPER NUCLEAR STATION - NRC MATERIAL CONTROL AND ACCOUNTING PROGRAM INSPECTION REPORT 05000298/2007201
Dear Mr. Minahan:
On April 2 - 6, 2007, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) conducted a material control and accounting (MC&A) inspection at your Cooper Nuclear Station. The inspection was conducted under Phase III of Temporary Instruction 2515/154. The enclosed inspection report documents the inspection findings, which were discussed during an exit meeting on April 5, 2007, with Mr. Gary Kline and other members of your staff, and in a supplemental exit meeting by telephone on July 11, 2007.
The inspection examined activities conducted under your license as they relate to safety, security and compliance with the Commissions rules and regulations and with the conditions of your license. The inspectors reviewed selected procedures and records, observed storage of special nuclear material in the spent fuel pool, and interviewed personnel. Areas examined during the inspection included physical inventory and accounting records.
Based on the results of this inspection, no findings of significance were identified.
