Scoping Commentsfor Watts Bar Unit 2 Environmental Impact Statement
Dear Mr. Wiebe:
On behalf of Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, the Sierra Club, Blue Ridge Defense League, Tennessee Environmental Council, and We the People ("Organizations"), I submitting comments on the scope of the environmental impact statement
("EIS") for proposed Watts Bar Unit 2 nuclear reactor. The Organizations respectfully submit that the should consider, at a minimum, the environmental concerns raised in their hearing request to NRC, which is now pending before the Atomic Safety and Licensing Board. See Petition Intervene and Request for Hearing (July 13,2009), as supplemented by Amended Contention (September 3,2009).
