All further references to McGuire in this document are understood to include McGuire 1 (MNS 1) and McGuire 2 (MNS2). All pressure retaining components classified as Classes A. B, and C have been reviewed to determine the inservice inspection pressure test examination requirements.
Unless otherwise noted, systems designated as Class A are equivalent to ASME Class I: those designated as Class B are equivalent to ASME Class 2, and those designated as Class C are equivalent to ASME Class 3.The Section XI requirements for MNSI inservice inspection pressure testing are based on Relief Request 10-MN-001, which was approved by the NRC on March 3.2011. see ADAMS MLI 10550770.
This Relief Request allowed Duke Energy to implement the requirements of Section XI, 1998 Edition with the 2000 Addenda for Period I of the fourth interval, sec document MISI-1462.20-004(0 -PTPLAN for implementation details. This Relief Request also requires that the Code of Record for Unit I be updated to match that used for Unit 2 no later than the end of Period I of the fourth interval.
As discussed in the next paragraph.
MNS2 will implement the 2007 Edition with the 2008 Addenda for Interval 4 and therefore this version of the Code will be implemented at MNSI for Periods 2 and 3 of Interval 4, as modified by the Code Cases and Relief Requests included in this Pressure Testing Plan.Based on a foul'h interval start date of July 15. 2014 for MNS2 and the requirements of IOCFR50.55a(g)(4)(ii).
inservice inspection pressure testing activities for McGuire shall be performed in accordance with the 2007 Edition of ASME Section XI with the 2(008 Addenda. as modilied by the Code Cases and Relief Requests included in this Pressure Testing Plan.When performing system leakage tests in accordance with IWA-5213(a), no holding time is required after attaining test pressure for Class I components.
a 10-minute holding time after attainin'g test pressure is required for Class 2 and Class 3 components that are not required to operate during normal operating conditions, and no hold time is required for the remaining Class 2 and Class 3 components provided that the system has been in operation for at least 4 hours4.62963e-5 days <br />0.00111 hours <br />6.613757e-6 weeks <br />1.522e-6 months <br /> for insulated components or 10 minutes for uninsulated components.
If leakage is detected on either of the MNS I Residual Heat Removal Heat Exchangers (IA or 113) or either of the MNS2 Residual Heat Removal Heat Exchangers (2A or 2B) during Pressure Testing and VT-2 examinations, tile ISI NDE Plan manager for Mc(auire shall be notified of the leakage so that an evaluation can be performed to determine the continued use of Code Ca,;e N-706- I for summary numbers M I .C 1.1 0.(X0001 and M l .1.20.0011 (Heat Exchanger IA), M I .C 1.I0.0005 and M I .C 1.20.(X)06 (Heat Exchanger I B), or M2.CI. 10.0009 and M2.C 1.20.00 i8 (Heat Exchanger 2A) and M2.C 1.10.0008 and M2.C 1.20.0014 (Heat Exchanger 2B). respectively.
The Section XI Code Cases which were applied to the McGuire 4O' Interval Pressture Testing Program were identified in document DUKE-008-002.
Revision 0 and included Code Cases published through the 2010 Edition of Code Cases: Nuclear Component.%.
Supplement II. Implementation of these Code Cases was based on the requirements in Regulatory Guide 1. 147. Revision 16. and Regulatory Guide 1. 193. Revision 3.Identification of additional Section X] Code Cases for the 4"' Interval will be in accordance with the ASME Section XI Functional Area Manual Sections 1.5.3 and 4.2 beginning with the 2013 Edition of Code Cases: Nuclear Component.s.

and IWB-5000 of Section XI. ISI Class A systems that ,are required to be pressure tested shall be divided into isolable areas. to the extent practical.
These areas represent specific pressure testing zones, hereafter referred to as examination zones. Note that ISI Class A at McGuire is equivalent to ASME Section XI Class !.ASME Section Xl Examination Categories and Requirements The pressure testing requirements for ISI Class A components are listed in Table IWB-2500-

Category B-P, All Pressure Retaining Components In accordance with IWB-5221, the ISI Class A System Leakage Test shall be conducted at a pressure not less than the pressure corresponding to 100% rated reactor power. The test pressure and temperature shall be attained at a rate in accordance with the heat-up limitations specified for the system.In accordance with Examination Category B-P. Item Number B 15.10? the ISI Class A System Leakage Test is required to be perfonned prior to plant starttp following each reactor refuieling and is performed with all valves in the position required for normal reactor operation startup. The visual examination shall, however, extend to and include the second closed valve at the boundary extremity.
In accordance with Examination Category B-P. Item Number B 15.20, the pressure-retaining botmndary during the ISI Class A System Leakage Test conducted at or near the end of each inspection interval shall extend to all ISI Class A pressure-retaining components within the system boundary.

"As Built" system flow diagram revisions are reviewed to determine if the revision had any impact on the pressure testing boundaries.
These flow diagram revisions are incorporated into the Inservice Inspection pressure testing boundary drawings as necessary.
Some flow diagram revisions do not affect the pressure testing boundaries:
therefore, the pressure testing boundary drawings are not required to be revised. For this reason, there may be a difference between the numeric revision level listed on the flow diagram versus the revision level of the flow diagram referenced on the pressure testing boundary drawing. The latest revision of the pressure testing boundary drawing can be retrieved from NEDL.See Attachment D for a listing of the Pressure Testing Boundary Drawings applicable to McGuire Units I and 2.12 Buried Components Unless otherwise specified (i.e., deviation cited in a Relief Request).
pressure testing for ISI classified buried components will be performed in accordance with ASME Section XI. IWA-5244.
The permanent record must confirm the applicable IWA-5244 test was acceptable.
