SUMMARY

OF JUNE 5, 2007, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITHENTERGY NUCLEAR NORTHEASTOn June 5, 2007 at 12:30 p.m., an annual assessment meeting was conducted at the JointNews Center in Fulton, New York, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy). The NRC requested the meeting with Entergy officials to discuss the NRC's assessment of the safety performance of the James A.

FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant for calendar year 2006. A list of meeting attendees is attached. The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of the James A.FitzPatrick Nuclear Power Plant for the period of January 1 through December 31, 2006. The NRC presentation included a discussion on the NRC, its strategic goals, the Reactor Oversight Process, and performance assessment results for calendar year 2006. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, Entergy acknowledged and agreed with NRC's assessment and presented its perspective on the station's performance.The NRC and Entergy presentations were followed by a short question and answer period. Feedback forms submitted by the public following the meeting will be evaluated. NRC's assessment letter can be found in ADAMS with an accession number of ML070610609.
