Channel-control blade interference describes one way for a control rod to become stuck because the control blade causes friction with the fuel bundle channel.

Lattice spacing

The more susceptible plants are those with smaller spacing between the fuel bundle channel and the control blade.

  • D lattice - BWR 4 - Most space
  • C lattice - BWR x
  • S lattice - BWR 5/6 - Least space
