FEB231978RequestforAdditionalInformationGeneralElectricCompanyTopicalReport:NEON-20988,Revision2TestPlan-December,19761.EffectsofaleakingSRVonquencherloadshasbeenidentifiedasanareaofconcern.TheCaorsotestplan,however,doesnotaddressthisIconcern.ItisourpositionthattestsonaleakingSRVshouldbeconducted.Therefore,atestplanconsideringaleakingSRVshouldbeprovided'forourreview.2.TheCaorsotestmatrixindicatesthatmostoftheparametersofinterestwillberepeatedonlyonce.Testsperfor'medeitherforramshead(squadCityandNonticello)orforquencher(NEDE-11314-08)exhibitedagreatdegreeofdatascatter.Th'erefore,webelievethatthecurrentCaorsotestmatrixisinsufficienttodeterminetherepeatabilityofthetestdata.MerecommendadditionaltestsbeconductedforfirstactuationofaSRVandsubsequentactuationsofthesameSRVtodemonstraterepeatability.Thenumberoftestsshouldresultintestdatawith~statistical'significance.3.BasedonourevaluationofpreviousSRVtestdata,wefindthattheSRVdischargetimeanddurationbetweenfirstactuationandsubsequentactuationinfluencethequencherloadduetosubsequentactuation.Therefore,providethevalueandthebasisfortheselectionofthetimesfortheCaorsotests.

J 4~w3FFR2819786.Submergedstructureloadshavebeenidentifiedasaprimary'esijnloadfortheMarkIIcontainment.Mebelievethattheana1yticalprogramindicatedintheMarkIIownergroupmeetingwhichwasheldonFebruary16and17,1977,isinsufficienttosupportthedesignloadsforsubmergedstructurewithoutexperimentaldata.Therefore,werecommendthatadditionalpressuresensorsshouldbeinstalledonsupportcolumnsanddowncomerstomeasurethedragloadduringSRYoperation.7.Providethelocationsforpressuresensor'sNos.19,23,35,36and37.
