Re:NineMilePointUnit1DocketNo.50-22010lg'..app~IIIC5tg73IrppL1IppySNLpfp7(plkocEQgagOurapplicationforconversionofProvisionalOperatingLicenseNo.DPR-17toafull-termoperatinglicenseincludedananalysisofthecapabilityofNineMilePointUnit1toaccommodateanticipatedtransientswithoutscram.Sincethetimeofthatsubmittal,certainchangeshavetakenplacewhichaffecttheanalysisofthesetransientsandotheranticipatedtransients.TheattachmenttoyourletterofOctober19,1973includedassumptionsandcriteriatobeusedintheanalysisoftransientswithoutscram.Theanalysiswhichwasincludedinourprevioussubmittalshowedthatfortheworstcaseduringanticipatedtransientswithoutscram,containmentpressurecouldreach45psig.Thisexceedsthedesignpressureofthesuppressionchamber.TheattachmenttoyourletterofOctober19,1973specifiedcontainmentdesignpressureastheacceptablelimit.LThepreviousanalyses'ofothertransientswhichincludescramwereperformedassumingnotrippingoftherecirculationpumps.Preliminaryinvesti-gationsindicatethatincorporationofatrippingofthepumpsonhighreactorpressureaggravatesthesetransients....SeePage28642
