- Tony, The Operations procedure requirement for a 7 minute run is a prestart issue. The 7 minutes is a "minimum" time to ensure proper lubrication in preparation for RCP pump start. The white paper to which you refer is for a 5 minute run and is not for a "prestart", it is intended to maintain oil reservoir levels. If I can be of further assistance on this please reply back.

Enclosed is information on the RCP thermal overload settings.
There was a question should the RCP starting procedures have a CAUTION statement regarding the lift pumps: Procedure 400P-9RC01 section 3.7 cautions that the lift pump must be run 7 minutes prior to starting the RCP and follow on sections for starting RCPs (4.3.18 for example) also contain a step for starting each pump.
