Defray Beach and provides the -following.information. This response is being provided under the Kenneth W. Wright Winter Park provisions of Title .10 of the Code of FederalRegulations Part 51, the Nuclear Regulatory Brian S. Yablonski Commission's (NRC) regulation that implements the National Environmental Policy Act Tallahassee of .1969.
Executive Staff Project Description Kenneth D. Haddad Executive Director The NRC is reviewing an application submitted by Florida Power Corporation for the Nick Wiley Assistanmt Executive renewal of the operating license for Crystal River Unit 3 Nuclear Generating Plant (CR-Director 3). As part of the LRA review, the NRC is preparing a Supplemental Environmental Karen Ventimiglia Impact Statement (SEIS). The SEIS includes an analysis of pertinent environmental Deputy Chief of Staff issues, including wildlife listed by the State as Endangered, Threatened, or Species of Special Concern:. - . - . . ,.
Office of Planning and Policy Coordination CR-3 is located in Citrus County about 35 miles southwest of Ocala, Florida (Attachment Nancy Linehan Director 0). The CR-3 site is on the Crystal Bay, a sliallow embayment of the Gulf of Mexico.
(850) 487-3794 The CR-3 site covers approximately 4,738 acres, of which approximately 1 062' acres are (850) 410-5265 FAX (850) 410-5272 occupied by industrial facilities. The remaining acreage consists§-of salt marsh, hardwood (850) 922-5679 FAX hammock forest, pineland, and freshwater swamp.
The Atomic Energy Commission identifies two 500-kilovolt transmission lines that were Managiogfish and wildlife built to connect CR-3 to the electric grid (Attachment 2). .These two transmission resources for their long-term well-being and the corridors occupy approximately 2,440 acres., :The.Central Florida line is. approximately benefit of people. 53 miles long, terminates at the Central.Florida Substation; and crosses Citrus.. Marion, and Sumter counties.- The Lake Tarpon line, is approximately 81 mJiles long, termina.tes at 620 South Meridian Street the Lake TarponSubstation; and crosses- Citrus, Hernando, Pasco, and Pinellas counties.

- Bear Range - Chassahowitzka Subpopulation-Secondary Zones; 0 Priority wetlands for the American alligator, American oystercatcher, Homosassa shrew, Florida black bear, little blue heron, tricolored heron, Marian's marsh wren, Scott's seaside sparrow, brown pelican, gopher frog, and bald eagle;
- Strategic Habitat Conservation Areas for the bald eagle and Scott's seaside sparrow; 9 U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Consultation Area for the Florida scrub-jay and red-cockaded woodpecker;
- Florida Natuial Areas Inventory (FNAI) -Manatee Aggregation Site;
- FNAI Conservation Lands - Waccasassa Bay Preserve State Park, Crystal River Archeological State-Park, Crystal River Preserve State Park, Felburn Park; Yankeetown Conservation Area, and Marjorie Harris Carr Conservation Area; and
