APPENDIX A NOTICE OF DEVIATION TU Electric Docket: 50-445/87-29 Comanche Peak Steam Electric Station, Permit: CPPR-126 Unit 1, Glen Rose, Texas The following deviation was identified during the inspection conducted on November 4 through December 1, 1987.
Section 4 of CPRT Project Procedure CPP-027, Revision 2,
" Reinspection / Documentation Review of Purchased Safety-Related Material and Equipment," states, in part, "The inspector is responsible for performing the reinspection / documentation Review, and completing the specific checklist attributes contained in each ,
reinspection / documentation review verification package."
Attribute 20.2 of the CPRT checklist for Verification Package I-M-VII.a.9-082, requires the CPRT inspector to verify that a 3/4" NPT was provided as identified on Drawing 102202E.
Contrary to the above, checklist attribute 20.2 was incorrectly verified by the CPRT inspector as being 3/4" NPT. NRC inspection in this area determined that the actual size of this item was 1/2" NPT (445/8729-D-01).
Please provide to the U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, ATTN:
Document Control Desk, Washington, DC 20555, with a copy to the Office of Special Projects, Comanche Peak Project Division, Inspection Programs, in writing within 30 days of the date of this s Notice, the reason for the deviation, the corrective steps which have been taken and the results achieved, the corrective steps which will be taken to avoid further deviations, and the date when your corrective action will be completed. Where good cause is shown, consideration will be given to extending the response time.
