PORTSMOUTH GASEOUS DIFFUSION PLANT - CLARIFICATION OF THE PLAN OF ACTION AND SCHEDULE SECTION OF ISSUE 3 OF THE COMPLIANCE PLAN
Dear Mr. Miller:
This documents a clarFication that was discussed by phone on January 29, .1998, with M . Mark Smith of your staff conceming the application of the May 1,1998, completion date to Actions 2 through 9 described in the Plan of Action and Schedule (POAS) section of issue 3 of the Plan for Achieving Compliance with NRC Regulations at the Portsmouth Gaseous Diffusion Plant (DOE /ORO-2027/R3). The POAS states that the scheduled completion date for Actions 2 through 9 for the first of thiricen autoclaves is May 1,1998, and that the completion date for the last of the remaining twelve autoclaves is February 1,2001.
De advised that if an action only involves one autoclave, such as Action 3, then the May 1,1998, completion date would not necessarily apply to that autoclave. Similarly, this completion date would not necessarily app!y to the first autoclave within a group of less than thirteen autoclaves, such as in Action 2.
