CLINTON POWER STATIONSUPPLEMENTAL INSPECTION SCHEDULING
Dear Mr. Crane:
By the letter dated February 7, 2007, the NRC finalized a White finding having low tomoderate safety significance for your Clinton Power Station facility. The finding involved inadequate consideration of vortexing in design calculations. In June 2007 we were notified by Mr. James Peterson of your staff that applicable corrective actions for that finding had either been completed or initiated, and that you were ready for the NRC to conduct our supplemental inspection to review the actions taken to address the White finding. Accordingly, we plan to conduct a supplemental inspection, beginning on August 28, 2007, at Clinton Power Station using Inspection Procedure 95001, "Inspection for One or Two White Inputs in a Strategic Performance Area." The schedule for the on-site inspection activity is August 28-30, 2007, and September 5-7, 2007. The inspector for this inspection, Mr. Ronald A. Langstaff, discussed this schedule with Mr. James Peterson of your organization in July 2007. We understand that our regulatory contact for this inspection is Mr. Ronald Frantz of your organization, and that our technical contact is Mr. Roger Weber, also of your organization. We have received your root cause evaluation, and corrective action plan for the finding, and do not require any additional information at this time.
