NON-PUBLIC SECURITY INSPECTION PLAN FOR RIVER BEND STATION (NRC PHYSICAL SECURITY INSPECTION REPORT NUMBER 05000458/2016401)
Dear Mr. Maguire:
On August 10, 2016, the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) completed its mid-cycle performance review of River Bend Station. The results of that review have been transmitted to
you separately in a publicly available assessment letter. This letter informs you of the NRC's plans for future security-related inspections at your facility.
The enclosed inspection plan lists the security-related inspections scheduled through June 30, 2018. The inspections listed during the last nine months of the inspection plan are tentative and may be revised at the next semiannual performance review. The NRC provides the inspection plan to allow for the resolution of any scheduling conflicts and personnel availability issues. The NRC will contact you as soon as possible to dis cuss changes to the inspection plan should circumstances warrant any changes. In addition, in response to your letter, dated August 15, 2016, indicating your readiness for inspection follow-up related to the December 3, 2014, Confirmatory Order, the follow-up inspection is reflected in the enclosed inspection plan.
While we are fully committed to our goal of ensuring openness in our regulatory process, we must balance that goal with the more immediate need of ensuring the continued safety and secure operation of nuclear facilities and the protection of nuclear materials in our country.
