Dear Mr. Fisk:

During our review of the license renewal application by Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc., forVermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) found arecord of a potential archaeological site on or near the right of way for the transmission linefrom the Vermont Yankee substation to the Coolidge substation. Information on Site VT-WD-24 was identified by a contractor from Argonne National Laboratory working for theNRC while conducting an archeological records search at the offices of the Vermont StateDivision of Historic Preservation (VDHP) in Montpelier, Vermont. The purpose of this letter is to make Vermont Electric Power Company (VELCO) aware of this potential archaeological site soVELCO can take the appropriate measures to preserve the site.
