OnFebruary7,1997,Rochester Gas&Electric(RG&E)responded totheNuclearRegulatory Commission's requestforinformation pursuantto10CFR50.54(f) regarding adequacyandavailability ofdesignbasesinformation.
Initsresponse, RG&Emadeacommitment tocollateandvalidateselectedinformation forspecificsystemsandtopicsandlinkthisinformation electronically withtheUFSAR.Further,RG&Estatedthatitsscheduleforcompletion oftheaboveexamination andverification ofsystemandtopicaldesignbasesinformation hadnotbeenestablished yet,thatitintendedtodevelopafirmscheduleinthethirdquarterof1997,andthatitwouldprovidethescheduletotheNRCatthattime.RG&Ehasrecognized theneedtoputinplaceaninformation technology (IT)infrastructure tosupportcontinued maintenance ofthedatacollected fromtheUFSARverification anddesignbasisdocumentation
- projects, bothofwhichareinprogress.

RG&Econsiders theirin-depthreviewtohavesatisfied theneedtoperformanyotherSSFIsin1997.3.RG&EhasalsorevieweditsConfiguration Management processes andconcluded thatadditional enhancements toexistingprocesses, suchascalculation controlandVendorTechnical Manual(VTM)control,arewarranted.
