Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station, Units 2 and 3 l
Dear Sir / Madam:
1 The purpose of this letter is to inform you that PECO Energy Company will be requesting a renewed license for the Peach Bottom Atomic Power Station (PBAPS), Units 2 and 3 in accordance with 10CFR Part 54.
For several years, PECO Energy Company has actively supported industry efforts to develop a stable and efficient license renewal process. As part of this support, PBAPS, Units 2 and 3 was one of five industry participants which developed samples of a license renewal application and supporting technical information for NRC review as a part of the NEl demonstration project in 1996. Presently, PECO Energy Company is working with Southern Nuclear Operating Company and Northern States Power in a teaming effort to develop sections of a license renewal application which can be used on our respective plants.
We anticipate that the license renewal application for PBAPS, Units 2 and 3 will be j
submitted in the second half of 2001, depending,on the, timely resolution of technical and environmentalissues. As the preparation of the application progresses, our submittal date will be finalized.
