  • DOCKET 50-255 - LICENSE DPR PALISADES PLANT - POTENTIAL SAFETY CONCERN RELATIVE TO THE ANCHORAGE AND SUPPORr OF.SAFETY-RELATED ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT - PART 2 NRC letter dated January 1, 1980 requested Consumers Power Comp!llly to submit the results of an investigation of positive anchorage for certain electrical equipment at the Palisades Plant.

Our consultant (URS/John A Blume and Associates) has inspected certain*elec-trical equipmen_t and the attached report provides the results.

An anchorage system for the equipment listed as not having any positive anchorage has been designed.

This design was based on analysis and the existing floor response spectrum for the Palisades Plant struc~ures. These anchorages are presently beirig fabricated and installed by a contractor.

A continuing evaluation, based on engineering judgment criteria, of existing positive anchorages is being performed.

Any anchorage inadequacies will be fixed as they are identified on a best effort's basis as outlined in our

Consumers Power Company and URS/John A Blume and Associates are jointly developing guidelines to accommodate any non-Category 1 equipment identified
