Dear Sir or Madam:
Entergy submitted Pilgrim Relief Request, PRR-16 (Reference 1) for NRC approval to credit various examinations performed using the Boiling Water Reactor Vessel Internals Program (BWRVIP) guidelines in lieu of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME)Section XI Code inspection. requirements on reactor vessel internals and components.
Since then, Entergy has reviewed the Pilgrim reactor pressure vessel internal inspection plan for Refueling Outage 17 (RFO-17) and future outages, and has concluded that Entergy will continue to comply with the ASME-required examinations, irrespective of BWRVIP guidelines.
Therefore, Pilgrim withdraws PRR-1 6 at this time.
This withdrawal does not impact the ASME-required examinations of reactor vessel internal components.
