WOLF CREEK PLANT TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION SHUTDOWN DUE TO REACTOR COOLANT SYSTEM LEAKAGE DESCRIPTION:
On September 2, 2016, at 4:08 a.m., (all times CDT) while operating at full power, control room operators calculated unidentified reactor coolant system leakage of 1.358 gallons per minute, in excess of the Technical Specification 3.4.13 limit of 1 gallon per minute. At 10:00 a.m. Wolf Creek Generating Station commenced a reactor shutdown to comply with the Technical Specification. The licensee tripped the reactor from 30 percent power at 11:58 a.m. and entered Mode 3, Hot Shutdown.
