OF MAY 12, 2008, ANNUAL ASSESSMENT MEETING WITH ENTERGY NUCLEAR OPERATIONS, INC.

On May 12, 2008, at 6:00 p.m., the Annual Assessment Meeting was conducted at the Red Roof Inn, Brattleboro, Vermont, between the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and Entergy Nuclear Operations, Inc. (Entergy). The NRC requested the meeting with the management of Entergy to discuss the NRC=s Annual Assessment of the performance of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station in 2007.

The NRC presented and discussed its assessment of the safety performance of Vermont Yankee for the period from January 1 through December 31, 2007. The NRC presentation included a discussion of the Reactor Oversight Process (ROP), a summary of national performance assessment results, and the results of the NRCs performance assessment of Vermont Yankee. Entergy presented its perspective regarding the plant=s performance and operational goals for 2008.

The public was invited to observe the meeting and, at the end of the meeting, was offered the opportunity to communicate with the NRC regarding Entergy=s performance at Vermont Yankee and the role of the agency in ensuring safe plant operations.
