LOGISTICS TRIP REPORT TO DELAWARE EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT AGENCY REGARDING SALEM - HOPE CREEK LICENSE RENEWAL On Thursday August 14, 2009, I conducted the subject trip to brief the staff at Delaware Emergency Management Agency (DEMA) on the licensees plan to submit a license renewal application. The meeting was coordinated by Ms. Nancy McNamara, Region I State Liaison Officer.

Individuals contacted and discussions:

Mr. James E. Turner, Director of DEMA I gave Mr. Turner copies of the License Renewal Frequently Asked Questions, NUREG-1850 and the Reactor License Renewal Brochure, NUREG/BR-0291 and used that information as the basis for briefing him and his staff on the license renewal process. I gave them information on how to access information on the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) website.

Mr. Turner expressed his appreciation for the information and briefing. He provided the following feedback:

That he will meet with the Governor of Delaware to discuss the need to have a public meeting to discuss the license renewal process and, if deemed necessary, will make a formal request to the NRC to hold a meeting in Delaware.
