Dear Mr. Curley:
By letter dated December 8, 2009, you requested the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commissions (NRCs) review and comment on Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) Revision 2, Transportation Plan (TP) in support of the removal of the fuel during WPIs decommissioning of its nuclear reactor.
The NRC staff reviewed and concludes that the WPI transportation plan for a one time shipment provides reasonable assurance that the requirements in 10 CFR 73.67 (g) continues to be met and finds it acceptable.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.390 of the NRC=s ARules of Practice,@ a copy of this letter will be available electronically for public inspection in the NRC Public Document Room or from the Publicly Available Records component of NRC=s Agency wide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS).
