Radioisotope Production Facility, the types and number of equipment, time operated, and material moved was estimated. Radioisotope Production Facility, the types and number of equipment, time operated, and material moved was estimated. Using these estimates and equations developed in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) AP-42, Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors, the amount of PM-i10 and PM-2.5 was estimated for the RPF project. The results are presented in this document.

Methodology Earthmoving activities involve operation of heavy construction equipment on exposed soil. The methods for calculating fugitive dust emissions for earthmoving activities are outlined in AP-42, Section 13.2.5 (updated 2006). Emissions were calculated based on the following equation.

Radioisotope Production Facility, the types and number of equipment, time operated, and material moved was estimated. Using these estimates and equations developed in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) AP-42, Compilation of Air Pollutant Emission Factors, the amount of PM-i10 and PM-2.5 was estimated for the RPF project. The results are presented in this document.

Methodology Earthmoving activities involve operation of heavy construction equipment on exposed soil. The methods for calculating fugitive dust emissions for earthmoving activities are outlined in AP-42, Section 13.2.5 (updated 2006). Emissions were calculated based on the following equation.

Assumptions Table I provides assumptions used in the fugitive dust calculations. The assumptions include the type of activities performed, the number of units performing the activities, the number of hours of the activities, and the amount of material moved.

The specific equation used is noted for each operation as a footnote. The equations used for each activity are shown in Table 2. The emission fa~ctor is obtained by multiplying the results of the emission factor equation by the appropriate scaling factor.
