SUBJECT:

ADVISORY COMMITTEE ON REACTOR SAFEGUARDS REVIEW OF THE LASALLE COUNTY STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2, LICENSE RENEWAL APPLICATION - TRANSMITTAL OF THE FINAL SAFETY EVALUATION REPORT By letter dated December 9, 2014, Exelon Generation Company, LLC (Exelon or the applicant),

submitted a license renewal application (LRA) in accordance with Title 10 of the Code of Federal Regulations (10 CFR) Part 54, Requirements for Renewal of Operating Licenses for Nuclear Power Plants. Exelon requested renewal of the LaSalle County Station (LSCS),

Units 1 and 2, operating licenses (operating licenses NPF-11 and NPF-18, respectively) for a period of 20 years beyond the current expiration at midnight on April 17, 2022, for Unit 1, and December 16, 2023, for Unit 2. The Advisory Committee on Reactor Safeguards (ACRS)

Subcommittee on License Renewal met on April 19, 2016, to review the LRA and the staffs Safety Evaluation Report With Open Items Related to the License Renewal of LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16053A439).

The license renewal staff and technical branches have completed their review of the applicants LRA and have issued the Safety Evaluation Report Related to the License Renewal of LaSalle County Station, Units 1 and 2 (ADAMS Accession No. ML16126A503). All open items have been satisfactorily closed. We request that the ACRS review the staffs Safety Evaluation Report for the LSCS LRA. The LSCS LRA is currently scheduled for review by the ACRS full committee on July 6, 2016.

The required copies of the Safety Evaluation Report have been delivered to your staff.
