Dear Mr. Johnson:

This letter summarizes the conference. call which was held on August 2, 1994 at RG&E's request to inform NRC staff of the implementation schedule for our revised emergency procedure incorporating the NEI (formerly NUMARC) emergency classification methodology.

We had reviewed and the PORC had approved this change under 10CFR50.54(q)

and, as a courtesy, the revised procedure and supporting documentation

'was submitted to NRC for review and concurrence.

During the conference call NRC staff expressed its support of the NEI methodology, and did not identify any issues in our submittal package that would preclude our implementation date of August 8, 1994.

The August 8 date was selected to accommodate annual Emergency Preparedness

training, and our upcoming drill and exercise schedule.

We understand that NRC intends to complete its review of our submittal and will communicate any comments for our resolution in the near future.
