Dear Mr. Eis enhu t :

Re ference (a) provided commitments concerning NUREG 0737 Item II.F.1.3 " Containment High-Range Radiation Monitor" in response to Generic Letter No. 82-05 for our Quad Cities Station.

We indicated that a source calibration would be performed on the monitors contin' Jpon the station's receipt o f the Shephard Beam Calibrator whi purchased for this purpose.

Based upon vendor delivery schecu_ s as promised, we expected to commence the source.

calibration by July 1, 1982.

Due to vendor delivery problems beyond the control o f the Commonwealth Edison Company, our commitment to commence source calibration by July 1,1982 could not be met.

The current schedule for vendor delivery of the Shephard Beam Calibrator to our Quad Cities Station is now 4 to 6 weeks.

Contingent upon this current delivery schedule, our best estimate for completion of the required calibrations is the end o f October 1982.

Our implementation status for this item was discussed with Mr. Jos e ph D. He gn e r.

Based upon the above, we hereby request Commission approval to delay the implementation due date for this item until October 30, 1982 in order to accommodate our current schedule requirements.
