NRC INTEGRATED INSPECTION REPORT 50 327/96 17 AND 50 328/96 17

Dear Mr. Kingsley:

This refers to the inspection conducted on December 8, 1996 through

January 18, 1997 at the Sequoyah facility.

The enclosed report presents the

results of this inspection.

During the inspection period, your conduct of activities at the Sequoyah

facility were generally characterized by good operations and maintenance.

However, the NRC is concerned with the weaknesses identified with engineering

support of the facility. Weaknesses were identified with engineering

involvement in the Section XI testing program, freeze protection program,

switchyard relay setpoint documents and implementation of vendor

recommendations.

In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's " Rules of Practice,' a coay of

this letter, its enclosures, and your response will be placed in the N1C

Public Document Room (PDR).
