SUBJECT:

INTEGRATED MATERIALS PERFORMANCE EVALUATION PROGRAM (IMPEP) REVIEW OF NEVADA RADIATION CONTROL PROGRAM This memorandum transmits to the Management Review Board (MRB) a proposed final report (Attachment 1) documenting the IMPEP review of the Nevada Radiation Control Program.

The review of the Nevada program was conducted by an interoffice team during the period August 25-29,1997. The team issued a draft report to Nevada on September 30,1997, for factual comment. Nevada sent factual comments by letter dated October 27,1997 from Yvonne Sylva, Administrator, Nevada State Health Division, Department of Human Resources (Attachment to proposed finsi report).

The review team found Nevada's performance with respect to each of the performance indicators to be satisfactory. Accordingly, the team recommends that the MRB find the Nevada program to be adequate to protect public health and safety and compatible with NRC's program.
