Hebdon, dated June 29, 1989 (P-89229)

Dear Mr. Weiss:

In Reference 1,

PSC stated that an exemption request would be submitted by July 30, 1989, for PSC's proposed Decommissioning Funding Schedule.

In establishing this date, PSC had planned to meet with the NRC in the mid-July time frame to allow further PSC/NRC discussion prior to submittal of the exemption request.

Based on availability of personnel, PSC and NRC were not able to schedule the meeting until August 3rd.

The purpose of the August 3rd meeting is to update the NRC on the status of PSC's decommissioning activities, present the Preliminary Decommissioning Plan and discuss any comments the NRC may have in reviewing the Preliminary Decommissioning Plan.

As mutually agreed upon in our telecon of July 11, 1989, PSC now intends to delay submitting the exemption request related to the Decommissioning Funding Schedule until after the August 3rd meeting is completed, to ensure that all comments related to the funding schedule are addressed.

PSC will establish a new date for submitting the exemption request shortly after the August 3rd meeting, g
