The U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff plans to issue an amendment to Southern Nuclear Operating Company (SNC) for Edwin I. Hatch Nuclear Plant (Hatch), Units 1 and 2, on approximately March 24, 2023.

By application dated August 19, 2022 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession No. ML22231B055), SNC requested changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) for Hatch, Units 1 and 2. The proposed license amendment request (LAR) would revise TSs for Hatch, Units 1 and 2, to relax required number of fully tensioned reactor pressure vessel head closure studs in technical specifications table 1.1-1, MODES.

If the State of Georgia has comments on the LAR, please provide the comments by the close of business on February 26, 2023.
