The mid-cycle steam generator tube inspection committed to by the Authority during the August 20, 1985 meeting with the NRC staff has been completed. As agreed upon at the August meeting the mid-cycle inspection consisted of an inspection of 100% of the hot leg tubes up to the second support plate. | |||
Attachment I to this letter summarizes the results of this inspection. This report is provided in accordance with Section 4.9.C of the Indian Point 3 Technical Specifications. | |||
Based on the final inspection results, Steam Generator 31 was classified as Category C-3 (1% of the tubes inspected defective) as defined in Technical | |||

All defective tubes identified by the inspection were plugged. | |||
The Authority will submit a written follow-up of this report in accordance with Technical Specifications. Included will be a review of the operating chemistry for the period since the last refueling outage. This status report was committed to by the Authority at the August 20 meeting. | |||

Indian Point 3 Nuclear Power Plant, Mid-Cycle Inspection of Steam Generators
Dear Dr. Murley:
The mid-cycle steam generator tube inspection committed to by the Authority during the August 20, 1985 meeting with the NRC staff has been completed. As agreed upon at the August meeting the mid-cycle inspection consisted of an inspection of 100% of the hot leg tubes up to the second support plate.
Attachment I to this letter summarizes the results of this inspection. This report is provided in accordance with Section 4.9.C of the Indian Point 3 Technical Specifications.
Based on the final inspection results, Steam Generator 31 was classified as Category C-3 (1% of the tubes inspected defective) as defined in Technical
