Gentlemen:

Subject: Inspection No. 50-354/88-14

A reutine safety inspection of your solid radio; tive waste processing,-

preparation, packaging and shipping program was conducted by Mr. H. Bicehouse

of this office on April 18-22, 1988. Our findings were discussed with Mr. S.

LaBruna and others of your staff at the conclusion of the inspection on

April 22, 1988.

Areas exacined during this inspection are described in the NRC Region I

Inspection Report which is enclosed with this letter. Within these areas, the

-inspection consisted of selective examination of procedures and representative

records, interviews with personnel and observatians by the inspector.

We have reviewed the actions taken to correct the violation brought to your

attention in the enclosure to our letter, dated February 12, 1987. The

corrective actions provided in your letter, dated March 13, 1987, appear

adequate to prevent recurrence.

Within the scope of this inspection, no violations or deviations were

observed.
