Dear Dr. Thadani:

As per the conference call held on June 12, 1984, between yourself and R. A. Bari, R. W. Youngblood, and K. Shiu, it will be necessary to revise the schedule for the Shoreham PRA Review (FIN A-3740). The new schedule is as follows:

Draft Report October 15, 1984 Final Report 2 months after receipt of appropriate NRC Comments.

This has been necessitated by the diversion of key personnel from the Shoreham project to work on Gessar (FIN A-3366), which per your instruc-tions, has a higher priority. Specifically, BNL will contribute to prepara-tion of the SER, and will provide technical assistance to NRC in treating "

design improvements and possibly Unresolved Safety Issues. Additional funds l

needed for work going beyond the present requirements of FIN A-3366 will be identified shortly. This schedule for the Shoreham review assumes that there c,

will be no substantial diversion of key personnel to provide technical sup-port for the Limerick hearings.
