By letter dated January 10, 2005, the Commission issued Amendment No. 170 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-76 and Amendment No. 158 to Facility Operating License No.
NPF-80 for South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2 respectively. The amendments consisted of changes to the Technical Specifications (TSs) in response to your application dated February 3, 2004, as supplemented by letter dated December 1, 2004. The amendments modified TS requirements to adopt the provisions of industry/TS Task Force (TSTF) change TSTF-359.
The Commission inadvertently issued the subject amendments with TS page 3/4 3-61 reflecting a page version based on previous Amendment No. 151 to Facility Operating License No.
NPF-76 and Amendment No. 139 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-80 for South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2 respectively; rather than the Amendment No. 163 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-76 and Amendment No. 152 to Facility Operating License No. NPF-80 for South Texas Project, Units 1 and 2 respectively.
The TS page 3/4 3-61 has been corrected and attached for incorporation in the subject amendments. We regret any inconvenience caused by this error.

INSTRUMENTATION REMOTE SHUTDOWN SYSTEM LIMITING CONDITION FOR OPERATION 3.3.3.5    The Remote Shutdown System Functions shall be OPERABLE.
APPLICABILITY:      MODES 1, 2, and 3.
ACTION:
With one or more required channels of one or more Remote Shutdown System Functions inoperable, restore the inoperable Function(s) to OPERABLE status within 30 days, or be in HOT STANDBY within the next 6 hours and in HOT SHUTDOWN within the following 6 hours.
NOTE: Separate condition entry is allowed for each Function.
SURVEILLANCE REQUIREMENTS 4.3.3.5.1 Each normally energized Remote Shutdown System monitoring instrumentation channel shall be demonstrated OPERABLE by performance of a CHANNEL CHECK at least once per 31 days.
4.3.3.5.2 Each Remote Shutdown System transfer switch, power and control circuit including the actuated components, shall be demonstrated OPERABLE at least once per 18 months.
4.3.3.5.3 Each Remote Shutdown System required instrumentation channel shall be demonstrated OPERABLE by performance of a CHANNEL CALIBRATION at least once per 18 months. [NOTE: Neutron detectors and reactor trip breaker indication are excluded from CHANNEL CALIBRATION.]
