SUMMARY

OF THE AUGUST 8, 2013, PUBLIC MEETING TO DISCUSS THE BRAIDWOOD STATION, UNITS 1 AND 2, END-OF-CYCLE PLANT PERFORMANCE ASSESSMENT On August 8, 2013, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) held a public meeting at the Braidwood City Hall. The meeting was between NRC Region III management and Exelon Generation Company management to discuss the NRCs assessment of the safety performance of Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2, for the period from January 1 through December 31, 2012.

The meeting notice and NRC presentation can be found in the Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) as ML13143A352 and ML13224A292, respectively. A list of principal NRC and licensee meeting participants can be found in the Enclosure.

The NRC began the meeting with an overview of the NRCs Reactor Oversight Program (ROP), national ROP results, and the Action Matrix in general. This was followed by a discussion of the NRCs assessment of the performance of Braidwood Station, Units 1 and 2, in calendar year 2012, which was documented in the March 4, 2013, End-of-Cycle Assessment Letter, as ML13063A113. As part of this regulatory performance meeting, Exelon briefly responded to the NRCs assessment. The licensee presentation can be found in ADAMS as ML13224A288. At the end of the meeting, members of the public were given the opportunity to ask questions of NRC officials. A list of principal meeting attendees can be found in the attached enclosure.
