The changes or errors listed below were identified during the period of January 1, 1993 to December 31, 1993 for the limiting Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) events at either St. Lucie Unit 1 or 2. | |||
The St. Lucie Unit 1 and 2 ECCS analyses are performed by Siemens Power Corporation (SPC) and ABB-Combustion Engineering (ABB/CE). As in the last reporting period, the vendor which holds the Analyses of Record (AOR) is: | |||
St. Lucio Unit 1 Small Break LOCA - ABB/CE Large Break LOCA - SPC St. Lucie Unit 2 Small Break LOCA - ABB/CE Large Break LOCA - ABB/CE The St. Lucie Unit 1 Large Break and Small Break LOCA were re-analyzed during the current report period by Siemens Power Corporation to support operation with 25% steam generator tube plugging. The peak clad temperature decreased by 32'F to 1912'F for the Large Break LOCA. The methodology supporting the Small Break LOCA is new and currently under review by the NRC. The peak clad temperature for the Small Break LOCA is expected to decrease from the current AOR value. An error was found in the method to initialize the temperature distribution in the containment wall of ABB/CE's Large Break LOCA model for St. Lucie Unit 2. The effect on peak clad temperature was less than 1'F. | |||
