Throughout the presentation the NRC staff asked clarifying questions, with a focus on understanding TVA's schedule and those activities that could impact the overall project schedule, including preoperation and startup testing preparation and coordination, Fukushima actions, and improvements made to support Region II in closing out IP&S items. Related to IP&S items, the NRC staff stated that continued communication with Region II on the status of IP&S items is necessary to ensure timely closure of the remaining items. In addition, the NRC staff stated that to minimize an impact to the schedule, an effort should be made to close IP&S items earlier rather than at the end of the project if they are not tied to a specific milestone.
