DUANE ARNOLD ENERGY CENTER SCHEDULING OF INITIAL OPERATOR LICENSE EXAMINATIONS

Dear Mr. Vehec:

We have received your letter NG-1 5-0 366, dated December 18, 201 5. In th is letter, you requested that initial operator licensing examination s originally scheduled for April 2017 be moved to June 2017. Additionally, you requested an initial license exam be scheduled for May 2019.

Based upon your request, we have scheduled the following initial license exams for Duane Arnold Energy Center for the weeks of:

June 5 and 12, 2017 , with an on

-site validation date the week of Ma y 8, 201 7 May 6 and 13, 2019 , with an on

-site validation date the week of April 8, 201 9 We understand that your staff will develop the examination s scheduled for 201 7 and 2019 , unless we determine it is necessary for the NRC to develop an examination in which case, we will notify you immediately upon discovery of that need. Because your letter indicated that there were more than nine applicants being considered for these examination s, the examination s were scheduled for 2 weeks. Please inform us if the number of candidates change for any examination as this will impact the examination schedule. Also, please inform us

, at your earliest opportunity

, if you discover you need to change the scheduled dates for the examinations.

A supplementary letter will be sent to the training department approximately 120 days prior to the examination informing the training manager of the chief examiner's name. The letter will also outline examination security expectations, list the materials required by the NRC to conduct the examination, reconfirm the examination date, and reconfirm the number of candidates you have in the Training Program.
