On March 12, 2012, the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff issued a 10 CFR 50.54(f)letter to all power reactor licensees and holders of construction permits in active or deferred status (Reference 1). Enclosure 3 of Reference 1 contains specific Requested Actions, Requested Information, and Required Responses associated with Recommendation 2.3 for Seismic.For Recommendation 2.3, Seismic (walkdowns), Enclosure 3, item 2 of Reference 1 required that within 180 days of NRC's endorsement of the walkdown procedure (Reference 2), CPNPP submit its final response for the requested information including a list of any areas that are unable to be inspected due to inaccessibility and a schedule for when the walkdown will be completed.
Reference 3 provided Comanche Peak's response with a commitment to perform inaccessible walkdowns of Unit 1 during the Unit 1 Spring 2013 outage and submit a supplemental report by June 30, 2013.The enclosure to this letter contain CPNPP's supplemental report as committed in Reference
: 3. It contains those areas previously listed in Enclosure 1 to Reference 3 as inaccessible.
Changes from the original report are clearly marked with change bars in the margins. The supplemental report U. S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission TXX-13105 Page 2 of 2 07/01/2013 includes the entire updated main body of the Reference 3 report and any new or revised content in the attachments, including the walkdown checklists Pages of the Enclosure, Seismic Walkdown Report, contain Security Sensitive Material and are marked accordingly.
