RE: St.Lucie Unit 1 Docket No.50-335 Proposed License Amendment I Alternative Requirements for Fuel Assemblies in Design Features Section of Technical Specifications-Deletion of Maximum Wei ht of Uranium Pursuant with 10 CFR 50.90, Florida Power&Light Company (FPL)requests an amendment to Facility Operating License DPR-67 for St.Lucie Unit l.The proposed amendment revises Technical Specifications Design Features Section 5.3.1, Fuel Assemblies, to delete the maximum weight of uranium in a fuel rod and provide alternative requirements for fuel assemblies in the design features section.Attachment 1 is a marked up copy of the proposed Technical Specification change.Attachment 2 is a Safety Analysis in support of the proposed amendment.

Attachment 3 is the"Determination of No Significant Hazards Consideration." The proposed amendment has been reviewed by the St.Lucie Facility Review Group and the Florida Power&Light Company Nuclear Review Board.In accordance with 10 CFR 50.91 (b)(l), a copy of the proposed amendment, is being forwarded to the State Designee for the State of Florida.Please contact us if there are any questions about this submittal.
