InresponsetoInspectionandEnforcementBulletin81-01datedJanuary27,1981,concerningfailuresofmechanicalsnubbers,thefollow-inginformationisprovided.GinnaStationhasnoINCmechanicalsnubbers.Actionitems1and2,therefore,donotpertaintoGinnaStation.ThereisonePacificScientificCompanymechanicalsnubberinstalledonasafety-relatedsystematGinnaStation.It.isamodelPSA-3andisinstalledontheBsteamgeneratorblow-downline.Itislocatedinsidecontainmentandisnotnormallyaccessibleduringreactoroperation.A'dditionalPacificScientificsnubbersarepresentlyinstorageandareplannedtobeinstalledonsafety-relatedsystems.EachofthePacificScientificsnubberswassubjectedtoafinalfunctionaltestpriortoshipmenttoverifythatdragforceswerewithinthespecifiedrange.TheinstalledsnubberhasbeeninserviceonlysincelastNovember.Freedomofmovementisrequiredofeachsnuboertoenableinstallation.Asdescribedinthesubjectbulletin,theinstalledPSA-3snubberwillbevisuallyexaminedandmanuallytestedduring'hespring1981refuel-ingoutage.Themechanicalsnubbersinstoragewillbeexaminedaspre-scribedpriortoinstallation.Theresultsoftheinspectionoftheinstalledmechanicalsnubberswillbesubmittedwithin60daysaftercompletion.810424088I
