Dear Mr. Kingsley:

This will acknowledge receipt of a letier dated April 20,1998, signed by Mr. J. M. Heffley of your staff, in response to our letter dated March 25,1998, transmitting a Notice of Violation associated with our identification of your staff's failure to properly search a vehicle at the Dresden Nuclear Power Station.

We have reviewed the corrective actions for the violation referenced above and your staff's analysis of why previous corrective actions for similar violations that involved inadequate vehicle searches were not totally effective. We have no further questions at this time. Your corrective actions will be examined during future inspections.
