Mr. Thomas noted that the logistics of making revisions to the emergency plans, modifying the training modules, scheduling training sessions and drilling to the revisions made can be a lengthy process. The additional time gained by scheduling the exercise for the week of June 26, 1988 will ensure that any revisions made as a result of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) review of the emergency plans can be effectively implemented before the exercise.

Dear Mr. Harrison:

SUBJECT:

FULL SCALE EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS EXEPCISE SCHEDULE FOR SEAPROOK STATION By letter of April 21, 1988 Mr. G. Thomas, Vice President-Nuclear Production, New Hampshire Yankee Divishn, requested that the Seabrook Station full scale emergency preparedness exercise be scheduled for the week of June 26, 1988.

Mr. Thomas noted that the logistics of making revisions to the emergency plans, modifying the training modules, scheduling training sessions and drilling to the revisions made can be a lengthy process. We have reviewed your request and T. Martin of the NRC discussed it with R.

Krian of FEMA on June 2,1988.

FEMA and the NRC are prepared to support the schedule for the week of June 26, 1988.

Questions or additional information regarding this matter sliculd be directed to the Seabrook Project Manager, Mr. V. Herses (301-492-1441).
