The Commission met with the staff to discuss the accident which occurred at the nuclear power plant located at Chernobyl in the U.S.S.R. | |||
Chairman Palladino requested that International Programs consider initiatives that might be proposed to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) such as an early warning system that IAEA could help develop. | |||

The Chairman requested that the staff brief the Commission on the incident on a periodic basis and suggested that the Commission consider at an agenda planning session the next date for a briefing by the staff on Chernobyl. | |||
