OFFICE (OPEN TO PUBLIC ATTENDANCE)
The Commission met with the staff to discuss the accident which occurred at the nuclear power plant located at Chernobyl in the U.S.S.R.
Chairman Palladino requested that International Programs consider initiatives that might be proposed to the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) such as an early warning system that IAEA could help develop.

The Chairman requested that the staff brief the Commission on the incident on a periodic basis and suggested that the Commission consider at an agenda planning session the next date for a briefing by the staff on Chernobyl.
