The hearing will begin July 12 at 9:30 a.m. Mountain Time, and continue daily until finished. It will be held at the Red Lion on the Falls Convention Center, Targhee/Bonneville Rooms, 475 River Parkway, in Idaho Falls. Those attending are advised to arrive early in order to pass through a security check.
Among the issues to be heard are the impact of the Fukushima Daiichi accident on the need for enrichment services; AESs plans for remediation of any NRC-authorized preconstruction activities; and greenhouse gas impacts of the facilitys operation and power consumption.
The Board will also conduct limited appearance sessions at which members of the public will have an opportunity to present oral comments to the judges on issues related to the hearing. At limited appearance sessions, people who are not involved in the hearing may make comments up to five minutes in length to the three judges on the Board.
The limited appearance sessions will be held at the Bennion Student Union Multipurpose Room, 1784 Science Center Dr., University Place in Idaho Falls, on Sunday, July 10 from 3-5 p.m., and Monday, July 11, from 7-9 p.m. Mountain Time. Either or both sessions may be canceled if there is insufficient public interest; therefore, anyone wishing to make a statement is requested to register by 5 p.m. Eastern Time on July 1. Requests may be submitted by mail to Administrative Judge G. Paul Bollwerk III, Atomic Safety and Licensing Board Panel, Mail Stop T-3F23, U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission, Washington, D.C. 20555-0001; by fax to 301-415-5599; or by e-mail to Jonathan.Eser@nrc.gov and Paul.Bollwerk@nrc.gov.

AREVA Enrichment Services submitted a license application in December 2008 to construct and operate a gas centrifuge uranium enrichment plant in Bonneville County, Idaho.
The NRC staff completed its safety and environmental reviews, publishing a Safety Evaluation Report in September 2010 and a Final Environmental Impact Statement in February 2011. The ASLB conducted hearings on the safety review in January. Information on the application and the NRC review is available on the NRC website.
NOTE: Anyone wishing to take photos or use a camera to record any portion of a NRC meeting should contact the Office of Public Affairs beforehand.
