Yankee Atomic Electric Company Adoption of NAC-MPC System, Amendment 5 Certificate of Compliance and Canister Registration T:S -E*ac
The purpose of this letter is to notify USNRC that all 15 NAC-MPC canisters storing spent nuclear fuel at the Yankee Atomic Electric Company site in Rowe Massachusetts will now be registered to NAC-MPC System Amendment 5.
Yankee Atomic loaded all spent nuclear fuel associated with plant operation into 15 NAC-MPCO canisters under Amendment 1 and 2 including Exemptions of NAC-MPC8 Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1025, references (c, d, e and f). Subsequently, Yankee Atomic registered those 15 canisters with the USNRC to NAC-MPCO through the 15 letters listed in Attachment A. Yankee Atomic requested an exemption from two Technical Specification requirements contained in NAC-MPC Amendment 5 Certificate of Compliance. That request was granted in reference (j).
In accordance with the regulatory guidance provided under 10 CFR 72.212(b)(4), Yankee Atomic Electric Company hereby provides notification that the 15 canisters previously registered to NAC-MPC Amendment 1 and 2 including Exemptions of NAC-MPC Certificate of Compliance No. 72-1025, references (c, d, e and f) will now be registered to the NAC-MPC System, Amendment 5 (reference (h)). Concurrent with this change, the current revision of the Final Safety Analysis Report for the NAC-MPC System will become Revision 7 (reference (i)).
