DATE & TIME: Wednesday, January 26, 2011 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. EST LOCATION: U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission One White Flint North 11555 Rockville Pike, Room 0-4B06 Rockville, Maryland PURPOSE: To discuss with Pacific Gas and Electric Company (the licensee) the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff questions raised during the previous public meeting with the NRC on December 9, 2010 (Agencywide Documents Access and Management System (ADAMS) Accession Nos. ML103270067 and ML103610074), related to the proposed license amendment submission that will specify how the licensee plans to manage new geotechnical information at Diablo Canyon Power Plant with respect to its design and licensing basis.

CATEGORY 1:

• This is a Category 1 public meeting. The public is invited to observe this meeting and will have one or more opportunities to communicate with the NRC after the business portion, but before the meeting is adjourned.

a) Clarification of the differences in terminology and intent between the Long Term Seismic Program (LTSP) evaluation method and the resulting LTSP seismic ground motion spectra and how those differences will be incorporated into the license b) Discussion of the standard or methodology and model change process that the licensee intends to apply for its probabilistic seismic hazard analysis to include quantifications for its probabilistic and deterministic seismic margins c) Clarification of specific proposed changes to its facility operating licenses d) Discussion of the licensee's intentions and linkages with this proposed license amendment to Generic Issue 199, "Implications of Updated Probabilistic Seismic Hazard Estimates in Central and Eastern United States on Existing Plants."

e) Discussion of the method by which the LTSP evaluation method and seismic ground motion spectra, once incorporated into the license, will be utilized in future operability determinations and functionality assessments f) Clarification of which aspects of this license amendment submittal and NRC staff review that the licensee may request pilot program credit, if any
