As a tool to aid the staff in its scoping review, APS provided numerous plant piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs). The P&IDs are highlighted in red to identify those components that are in scope of license renewal for 10 CFR 54.4(a)(1) and (a)(3), and highlighted in green for those in scope of license renewal for 10 CFR 54.4(a)(2). To the staff, it appears that the notes on drawing LR-PVNGS-ZZ-13-M-ZZP-004, Rev 0, describing the color scheme are incorrect.

Scoping concern #2 The legend for the P&IDs contained a symbol, a hexagon with "SI" in the hexagon, for identifying the termination of non-safety related components whose failure could affect safety related components due to spatial interaction. The staff is not familiar with notation and requested further explanation.

: The applicant explained that the hexagon symbol with "SI" in the hexagon represents a boundary for that portion of the system in scope of license renewal for 10 CFR 54.4(a)(2). There may be a wall at the location or other means of a boundary not shown on P&IDs. The applicant stated that they have an explanation/basis for these documented and these documents are available for review.}}
